Why Sauna?

  • Hands forming a heart shape against a sunset

    Happy + healthy heart

Studies have proven using a sauna 4-7 times a week reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 58%. The heat also helps widen blood vessels and improves circulation which in turn reduces blood pressure.

  • Reflection of a woman smiling in a window with a view of a lakeside landscape and cloudy sky.

    Sauna Community

Saunas are a catalyst for good conversation and provide a safe space to talk to friends and strangers alike. We think you will love the community element of sauna, our lovely customers certainly always leave us with a smile.

  • A variety of citrus fruits including lemons, limes, and oranges in a basket.

    Immune system

Exposure to heat stimulates and boosts the body’s natural immune system and can help detoxify and excrete toxins. It has also shown to increase metabolism, helping with weight loss and reduction in body fat.

  • Person performing a backflip on a sandy beach during sunset with another person walking in the distance.

    Athletic performance

Heat conditioning sends more blood to the heart. As more blood flows and more oxygen is delivered throughout the body, this fuels athletic performance and can increase muscle function and recovery.

  • Close-up of walnuts, including a cracked one showing the kernel inside.

    Increased brain function

Regular sauna use activates the growth of new brain cells and can improve its function in learning and memory. Studies have also shown using a sauna 4-7 times a week reduces the likelihood of developing dementia by 66%.

  • Person meditating on a beach at sunset

    Better mental health

Time spent simply sitting, talking, and connecting with friends + family, sharing an experience with no distractions increases your endorphins, and benefits your overall mood and emotional health.

Why we Love a Sauna Ritual

Ritual is the art of turning moments into meaning, grounding us in purpose and presence. It’s a pause in time, honouring what matters, connecting past, present, and future, and bringing us back to ourselves.

Founders: Jez & Rhi

Having been committed regulars at saunas all round the UK, Jez & Rhi were inspired to combine their love of cold water plunges (Rhi’s) and heat + fire (Jez’s) to create the Ritual Sauna experience.

Jez was previously primarily known for his artistic skills with his Picture Framing business but after over a decade of working inside and alone it was time to get out into wild places as well!

Rhi’s background includes teaching Yoga and hands on healing with Alchemy of Touch Bodywork.

Both feel passionate about providing spaces for people to come together, share experiences and just be. They hope to see you in the warmth soon.

Our Vision

We believe everyone deserves a place to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with nature, regardless of age or background. The Ritual Sauna Co’s vision is a sanctuary for wellness and renewal, rooted in the heart of West Sussex.

Our Sauna

The luxury of an authentic Finnish sauna on the inside and the rustic feel of an upcycled horse box on the outside. Our sauna is built using the highest quality timber from Scandinavia.

Our fire-wood is locally sourced from the West Dean Estate.

We run a HUUM HIVE stove which is one of the most environmentally sustainable models on the market with over 75% heat efficiency and ultra low particulate emissions.

Hot & Cold ~ Contrast Therapy

Over the last year, there's been a massive shift in how we approach wellness. Rather than indulging in occasional spa retreats, people are seeking regular and accessible ways to reset their mind and body.

Moving between the intense heat of the sauna and the bracing bite of our cold plunge bath creates a sensation that can only describe as a feeling of being completely alive.

Wherever the Sauna goes, so does the cold water bath, as we are great advocates of the contrast therapy and believe it’s an essential part of the sauna experience.
